Covid-19 information

The Belgian government has a number of measures in place to limit the spread of COVID-19. 

The Belgian government has announced a plan for gradual relaxation of restrictive measures. Relaxations are linked to the easing pressure on hospitals and progress of the vaccination campaign, which differs between regions. You should check the latest nationwide updates published by the Belgian government on their website.

General Measures

You must respect the rules on 1.5m social distancing requirements at all times. It is mandatory to wear a mask in many indoor public places, including on public transport, at stations and airports, in shops and shopping centres, when moving around restaurants and bars, and in places of worship. It is mandatory to wear a mask in busy shopping streets and markets. Children aged 12 and below are exempt. Further details have been published by the Belgian government (in English).

Flanders

Mautic Conference Europe is located in Flanders. Most restrictions in Flanders, including limits on social gatherings and in the hospitality sector, have been removed. Events can take place without restrictions with up to 200 people indoors and 400 people outdoors. 

In the Flanders region only, the requirement to wear a mask is limited to public transport, in the medical and non-medical contact professions, at airports, and at healthcare facilities..

Brussels

There are a number of additional measures in place in the Brussels-Capital Region, including:

  • Indoor gatherings at home or in private tourist accommodation are limited to eight people (not including children under 12).
  • Restaurants, cafés and bars are open but with table service only. Tables are limited to eight people, unless all people are from the same household group.
  • Religious and civil ceremonies, private parties, and cultural and other events can take place but with limits on numbers, social distancing and mask wearing requirements.
  • Teleworking is no longer mandatory, but remains strongly recommended.
  • Some events venues may require those attending to prove their COVID free status through the Covid Safe Ticket system, a Belgian, EU Digital COVID Certificate or an equivalent recognised by Belgium.
  • Local authorities have been empowered to take additional measures in the event of a spike in the numbers of local cases. These powers range from requiring that masks be worn in additional locations and circumstances, to introducing localised lockdowns. You should check regularly the website of the relevant city or town and Belgian government advice for the latest detailed information.

Event requirements

At the Mautic Conference Europe event we will be following the guidelines set out by the Belgian government relating to COVID-19.

All attendees must meet the requirements for entry in respect of vaccination and/or negative PCR tests specified by Belgium, which can be found on the Belgian Government website.  You must also use masks at all times on public transport to and from the event per the national and regional rules.

All exhibitors, sponsors, partners, speakers, participants, and staff will be required to show proof of full vaccination of COVID-19 or a negative COVID diagnostic test (PCR or antigen). If choosing to use the diagnostic test for entry, the test must be completed within 48 hours of the day of attendance.

In general, people are considered fully vaccinated:

  • 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
  • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine

We also require that all exhibitors, sponsors, partners, speakers, participants and staff take a lateral flow test each morning before coming to the event as a further precaution to ensure as best we can that those attending the event are not unknowingly carrying covid-19.

Upon arrival, staff will check for proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test and require demonstration of a negative lateral flow test - please have them ready to be checked on arrival.  There will be a limited number of lateral flow tests available at registration in the unlikely event that attendees have forgotten to take one before attending. Proof of vaccination can include your physical vaccine card or a printed / digital barcode from your country's official app/vaccination certification authority. Attendance considerations

Individuals should not attend the event if they are COVID-positive, are exhibiting COVID symptoms (as defined by the CDC), or have been exposed, within 14 days before the event, to someone who was COVID-positive or showed COVID symptoms. Mautic Conference Europe will issue a refund to anyone fitting these criteria.

At the event

We will be implementing a colour coded lanyard at the event, which enables you to tell others visually if you prefer them:

  • to keep at least 2 metres distance (red)
  • to shake hands but no closer (orange)
  • no distancing needed (green)

We request that attendees respect this colour code system and give others space as they need.
