Traveling to Belgium
If you plan to travel to Belgium or return to Belgium after a stay abroad, you are required to:
- Read the latest travel advice. It will explain exactly what certificates you need, based on what color country (area) you are traveling from: https://www.info-coronavirus.be/en/travels/
- Fill in a Passenger Locator Form within 48 hours prior arriving to Belgium: https://travel.info-coronavirus.be/public-health-passenger-locator-form
Getting to the venue
Corda Campus is a 5 minute walk from Kiewit train station. There is a direct train from Brussels once per hour which stops at Kiewit. Google Maps is a great way to plan your route, and check train times. Note that 'perron' means platform in Dutch.
If you are already located in Hasselt, there are several buses which take approximately 20 minutes from the centre of Hasselt to Kiewit.
There is storage available at the venue on all days of the event if you need to leave your luggage.
PLEASE NOTE THAT AT PRESENT, MASKS MUST BE WORN ON ALL PUBLIC TRANSPORT INCLUDING BUSES, TRAINS AND TAXIS, ACROSS BELGIUM.
A note on train journeys
The event venue is within 5 minutes walk from Kiewit station, however this is quite a short station and some trains will be longer than the platform. Please ensure that you are in one of the front carriages if alighting at Kiewit.
Tickets should be purchased in advance where possible, conductors on the train will validate your ticket. See below for where to purchase your tickets. You can also purchase tickets at machines which are located at most train stations.
The SNCB app is very useful as it provides the train times, allows you to manage tickets and gives an indication of how busy the trains are.
A note on bus journeys
Buses run very frequently and are an easy way to get around Hasselt and the surrounding areas. You can either purchase tickets one at a time, or a 10 ticket card. You must purchase tickets in advance, they cannot be purchased from the driver due to coronavirus restrictions.
There are ticket machines at most bus stops, and they can also be purchased over the counter at most train stations.
The De Lijn app is useful as it tells you when the next bus is expected, and allows you to manage tickets.
